Session Length: 90 minutes
Frequency: every 2 weeks
Group Size: up to 5
It takes a few years to build up confidence in your work with patients. It's important to have a supervisor you trust and feel safe with. I've led individual and group supervision for ten years. I'm a Certified Group Psychotherapist (CGP) and a Life Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association, so I can help you with your groups. I'm a supervisor in couple therapy at the Training Institute for Mental Health, so I can help you with your work with couples. I'm trained analytically but am familiar with all the different approaches, and I've been working with individuals for over 40 years. I think supervision in a group is even more useful than individual supervision, because hearing the experiences and uncertainties of other therapists will normalize your own. We'll have a maximum of 5 people, so there will be time for everyone, but you will learn a lot even if you're not presenting a case. A brief interview is required.
Licensed Psychoanalyst/Certified Group Psychotherapist
I've been a psychotherapist since 1980. As a Licensed Psychoanalyst, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Certified Group Psychotherapist, I work with individuals, groups, and couples. I specialize in couple therapy and working with creative people, including actors, musicians, and writers. I've written several books about psychotherapy, and served as Editor of the journal GROUP. In November 2016 I was made a Life Fellow of the American Group Psychotherapy Association.
