After moving back in with family, regaining a sense of independence and space can feel extremely challenging. Whether you have a close relationship with your family, or visit them once a year, the experience of living under one roof again can feel suffocating and regressive. You may find yourself feeling 13 years old again, where controlling your reactions feels impossible.
The power of shared experiences in this support group can serve not only as relief, but can also facilitate emotional regulation. Since you cannot control those around you, you will acquire coping skills and reflect on behavioral patterns developed in your earlier years that no longer serve you. I look forward to working together.

I recognize that the process of entering therapy can be overwhelming so I strive to create a warm and relaxed environment. Whether meeting with me in a group, alone, or as a couple, I listen thoughtfully and we will work at a pace with which you are most comfortable. My work with patients centers on moving beyond their habitual reactions to identify their true values.
